A Home Grown Revolution vegetable garden with raised beds made from oak from our local saw mill or our pine beds will make a stunning addition to any home and can provide you with mouth watering produce all year round.

We will come to your home and install them for you, complete with surrounding gravel or bark pathways if you wish, and we'll even fill them up with screened topsoil and compost so that you're ready to get going straight away.

Our oak beds are made from wood sourced from a local sawmill.  It weathers to a beautiful silver-grey colour and will last for years.  We do not treat the oak, but we will line it with a polythene liner unless you wish otherwise.  Like this your beds will last for years.

Our pine is PEFC certified and treated with Protim (a fungacide/insecticide).  We strongly recommend that you have these lined in which case a bed should last you for 12 plus years.  The wood weathers to a muted grey colour and will blend nicely into any garden.

The wood is held in place by sleek stainless steel brackets on the exterior face and aluminium channel on the enterior face which also serves as the housing for our aluminium hoops.  We use these metals for one practical reason: unlike ordinary mild steel, galvanised steel or plastic coated steel, they don't rust.

When we install the bed for you, we ensure that the beds are made ready to take our hoops and by extension, our covers.   This preparation is included in the price.  If you do not wish to have the beds pre-fitted for the hoops, then please let us know at the time of placing your order.

We strongly advise that you use a  local supplier recommended by friends or neighbours.  This is because when working out of area, it is difficult for us to know the quality of local supplies.   Whichever way you go, your soil should be a 50/50 mixture of loam and compost.  This is more than adequate to get you off to a good start, but you should bear in mind that the best soils are those built up over a few growing seasons, and you may want to further enrich your soil depending on the crops you decide to grow.

The pathway around the bed creates and keeps a tidy looking garden.  Edged in oak, and filled with either bark or gravel, it is lined with horticultural weed suppressing membrane, which lets water through, but helps to keep the weeds out.

Dimensions of the bed and pathways

This is entirely up to you although we are happy to help you with any decisions.  Generally we would not advise that beds be made wider than 1.5 metres or 5 feet, but we can make any dimensions: length, width, height of bed; height of hoops, width of pathway etc.

All prices for installed beds are POA.  Please do call us or click on the 'enquire online' button to send us an email. .
